All
of the enclosures for our "Smart Card Terminals" are
built of brushed stainless steel and include a cam lock and an
attractive, durable, Lexan decal. The terminals mount easily in
the wash bay or directly onto the vacuum. All card terminals come
standard with a back lit LCD display, a 500,000-insertion smart
card reader and a port for the addition of our waterproof 1,000,000-pass
credit card reader. (See "Off Line Credit Card Readers")
The LCD shows instructions, the Ewash vend price (separate from
the cash price on the timer), and the card value before and after
each transaction. Wiring is simple and can be done with limited
mechanical ability.
In order to activate the timer we
send it a pulse/quarter until the desired price has been reached.
For example, if the vend price of your wash bay timer is set for
$2.00, in order to satisfy that vend price we need to send the
timer 8 pulses in order for it to start and then debit the customers
card the $2.00. While that is how we satisfy the most basic of
transactions, we are able to do much more than that.
Because the Ewash Smart
Card PC Program enables us to set card pricing separate from the
amount of pulses that we send to the timer, we are able to run any
number of different incentive programs. Instead of sending eight
pulses to the timer, we can send ten pulses. This would give the
customer two extra quarters worth of time and we can still only
debit their card $2.00. We could also program the system to pulse
the timer eight times and only debit the customers card $1.50. On
the other hand maybe we would like to send the timer sixteen pulses
and debit their card $3.00. The possibilities are endless.
In addition to all of
the above features, we are able to run specials. For example, if
we want to offer "Card Holders" .25 cent vacuum prices
on Thursdays between 6:00AM and 6:00PM, no problem. All we have
to do is set the program to pulse the vacuum timer 4 times (based
on a $1.00 cash price) and then debit the customers' card only .25
cents. The special will automatically start at 6:00AM and revert
to regular pricing at 6:00PM.
Just think of the
marketing possibilities!
